Everything we sell is obsolete. A gas station quartz keeps better time than anything here. That is where the argument starts, not where it ends. Look at forty examples of one reference and thirty-nine are just watches. Then one stops you cold. That is the one we buy. Every piece is examined in hand, referenced accurately, and described without hype. Where we do not know something, we say so.

Watches worth knowing
A great collector notices what others pass by. They see honest wear and recognize a watch as a historical artifact, shaped by a natural patina that took decades to form. They spot the rare reference number, the unique caliber, or the microscopic typography variant on a dial that completely changes a watch's story.
We buy with that exact mindset and we sell the same way. That means when you talk to us, you will hear exactly what a piece is, and exactly what it is not, in the very same conversation.

Authenticity
Checked by our watchmaker, third generation at the bench. Case, dial, movement, hands. Every watch is either fully serviced or examined and function tested before it goes out. Nothing reaches the collection on trust alone.
Condition
Full disclosure. Polishing, service parts, replaced components, and honest wear, noted wherever we know it. Where we do not know, we say that too.
Provenance
Boxes, papers, receipts, and service history, documented when they come with the watch and named as absent when they do not.
Scholarship
No two are alike. References, dials, bezels, bracelets, production windows. The context is part of the object, so we write it down.
Personal service
Answered honestly. You are dealing with two collectors, not a marketplace. Questions get answered directly, and quickly.
Discretion
Who bought what stays between us. We handle pieces for collectors, dealers, and touring musicians and their crews, and not one of them is a name we would drop to sell the next watch.

Biel Vintage is the vintage house of Biel Watches, five years in the trade and thousands of watches through our hands. We have sold to private collectors, to first time buyers who did their homework, and to touring musicians and their crews, who tend to find us the same way everyone else does. Most of our business still arrives by referral, which is the only review that has ever counted.
Thousands of watches also means thousands we handled and put back down. Redialed, over polished, married cases, service parts sold as original. You do not learn to see that from a book. You learn it by handling enough of them that the wrong ones start announcing themselves across a room. That is what the years actually bought, and it is the part you are buying when you buy from us.

The best watches rarely reach the open market. Tell us the reference, the dial, the configuration you are after, and we go looking quietly, through a network of contacts built up over years and across continents. It starts as a conversation about what you actually want, which is usually not the first thing people ask for. Then we find it.

About Biel Vintage Watches
Biel Vintage is the vintage house of Biel Watches, in the trade since 2021. We buy and sell rare and historical watches, most of them made before 1990, and we tell you what we found when we opened them up. Considered acquisitions, honest condition, collector to collector. Every watch is inspected in house and described the way we would want it described to us.
